MALIBU, Calif. – In the annual PCH Cup matchup between Loyola Marymount and Pepperdine, each team took advantage of one half or the other. The Lions (3-10-4, 1-4-1 WCC) took the early lead in the first half before Pepperdine (9-6-1, 4-1-1 WCC) scored twice in the second half to take the game, 2-1.
With LMU earning a throw deep in the opponent's territory, freshman
Jalyn Lupo executed one of her patented long throws into the box and connected with the head of
Ali King for the early goal, 20 minutes into the contest. It was King's first goal in her LMU career.
Despite being outshot 5-2 in the opening 45 minutes, the Lions carried the goal advantage into the half.
Pepperdine's offense awoke for eight shots after the break, converting goals just minutes apart in the 69

thminutes to take the lead.
Charlee Pruitt made all six of the game's saves in her 90 minutes in net.
The Lions remain on the road this next week for a pair of games in the northwest. LMU opens the weekend at Portland on Oct. 26 then travels north to Gonzaga on Sunday for a 1 p.m. game.
