The LMU swim team will return to the water following winter break on Saturday, welcoming CSU Bakersfield and UC San Diego to the Burns Aquatics Center for a double-dual meet. Competition between the three teams begins at Noon.
These three teams met last year, with LMU dropping both decisions while swimming in Bakersfield, Calif.
In addition to the women's events on Saturday, CSU Bakersfield and UC San Diego will swim on the men's side. Diving points will also be awarded, as both visiting teams will send divers to UCLA to compete.
The Roadrunner women are 4-5 in dual meets this year, most recently dropping a close meet to San Jose State on December 31 at home, 155-143. UCSD is 4-3 in dual meets and is ranked No. 3 in Division II. It too recently competed against San Jose State, splitting back-to-back meets against the Spartans on the women's side. The Tritons were edged in the latter meet on January 3, 153-146, after posting a slim 152-148 victory the previous day as part of a double dual that also saw a victory over Incarnate Word.
CSUB's men check in at 1-4 overall this year, while UCSD's men are 2-1 overall.
Following the Saturday double dual, LMU will remain at home to host the three-day Lions Cup against Pepperdine, Alaska and Dixie State. The competition begins on January 12 at 1:30 p.m.
