Results

The Lions were able to defeat the Waves on the second day of the meet in both, sessions one and two. The first session began with an exhilarating 200 Freestyle relay. Though LMU's A relay was ahead during the race, finishing with a time of 1:39.66, it was a tight race between both LMU and Pepperdine's B relays, with the Lions coming out ahead by a touch.

The 400 IM fared well for the Lions as they took home second (Lanna Kozlowski), fourth (Maddie Lipkowitz), and fifth (Taylor Pajunen) in the event, with Pepperdine having only two swimmers in the top eight.

Pepperdine dominated the next event, having five of their swimmers in the top seed of the 100 Butterfly, to the Lions' three, but were swam out of the water by LMU in the 200 Freestyle. Isabel Willis took first place in the event, with a time of 157.50, and the other competing Lions took fifth through eighth.

LMU also took a victory in the 100 Breaststroke, as Marley Abbott out touched the Waves, finishing at 1:08.59, to claim a first place spot, with Mary Schell tying for fifth with a time of 1:11.42.

The 100 Backstroke was a strong event for LMU, as six Lions were able to claim a spot in the top eight, with Abby Chopp finishing first at 59.09. The session came to an end after a very close 400 Medley Relay, where the Lion's were just barely beat by Pepperdine's A relay. At the close of the session, LMU was ahead, with 144.5, and Pepperdine just behind with 141.5 points.

The second session began with Lion domination in the 1650 Freestyle. LMU's Keara Reilly and Lanna Kozlowski took first and second in the event, gaining 16 points for the Lions right off the bat. Audrey Hixon went on to win the next event, with a time of 2:10.75 in the 200 Backstroke. The Lions took four of the top eight spots in this event as well, adding fifteen points for the team.

The 100 Freestyle gave Isabel Willis her second first place victory of the day, as she finished with a time of 53.65. Five other Lions made it into the top eight during the event, giving the Lions some significant points moving forward. The 200 Breaststroke saw Mary Schell and Christine Chan both taking top spots, while the 200 Butterfly gave Taylor Pajunen a first place finish, with a time of 2:15.77.

The final individual event of the day gave way for three Lions to enter the top eight, with Chopp taking home another first place finish, at 1:00.56. The day came to a close as LMU's A relay (Taylor Anderson, Isabel Willis, Abby Chopp, Caitlin Ryan) snagged the top spot, with a time of 3:39.87. The Lions finished the session with a total of 134 points, with Pepperdine obtaining only 123. The Lions will resume their season on January 27th, where they will travel to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps to compete against the Stags at 12:00 pm.
