SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- Despite opening the match with a doubles win, the Loyola Marymount men's tennis dropped their conference road test at San Francisco, 4-1.

"We came out and played lockdown doubles today," said Head Coach Tom Lloyd. "We had great energy and the guys responded to everything fantastically."

Luke Bohuslav and Ryan Brown teamed up to take the doubles Court 3, 6-1. This allowed Nick Borchenko and Gabriel Diaz Freire to clinch the point with their 6-3 victory on Court 1.

"We then came out in singles and just didn't take advantage of some opportunities in first sets," said Lloyd. "Once USF got the first sets, they relaxed and played with nothing to lose. If we don't take advantage of our opportunists, then our fate falls in the hands of our opponent."

The singles courts ended with the Dons taking all four matchups.

LMU will be back on the road Saturday to face Santa Clara at 11 a.m.
