Feb. 12, 2017 Final Stats
FULLERTON, Calif. - On the final day of the Easton Invitaitonal, the LMU softball split its rematches with Ole Miss and Utah State. The Lions opened the day by taking an 8-1 loss to the Rebels before bouncing back with a 3-1 triumph against the Aggies.
Ole Miss (3-1) got on the board early with two runs in the before being held hitness for the next three innings by Rachael Farrington. The Rebels bats came alive in the fifth, adding three runs, including one unearned, to push the lead to 5-0.
Alyssa Gonzales added her third RBI of the game in the sixth to put the score in favor of Ole Miss, 8-0.
LMU (2-3) was able to extend the game as Alicia Brown drove in Brooke Christensen on a fielder's choice before the Lions fell by a final score of 8-1.

Final Stats
In the finale, Brown stayed hot at the plate as she drove in a two-run home run in the bottom of the first to give LMU the early lead, 2-0.
The score would hold until the bottom of the sixth until Katie Manley roped a single and Amanda Dirks laid down a sacrifice bunt, where Manley was able to advance to thrid on an errand throw. Brown capitzlied on the mistake as she drove in her third run of the game to give LMU a 3-0 cushion.
Utah State (3-1) would get on the board in the top of the seventh, but Hannah Bandimere would cap her complete-game effort with her fourth strikeout to seal the 3-1 win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Manley finished the day 2-for-3 and leads the team with a .429 batting average. Two of the freshman's three hits on the weekend were doubles and she also tops the team ranks with a .714 slugging percentage.
With two hits against Utah State, Brown recorded her 30th career multi-hit game.
