The Lions swept doubles competition and dropped just one singles match on the final day of the LMU Invite on Sunday from the LMU Tennis Center. LMU was paired against Pepperdine in doubles and against Nevada in singles as part of the round-robin format.

Lukas Moenter and Diego Nava combined to post an 8-7 victory over Max Mendelsohn/Dane Esses in the first match of doubles before Gabriel Diaz Freire and Lucas Moreno combined to defeat David Hough/Joel Popov (San Diego State), 8-7. Finally, Nick Borchenko and Ethan Prost posted an 8-4 victory over Pepperdine's Nicholas Baez/Scotland Garapedian.

On the singles side, Diaz Freire won a hard-fought three-set match over Kostya Nesterenko, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4. Moreno found himself in a similar match, outlasting Julien Evrard, 7-5, 5-7, 7-6. Moenter dispatched Jeremy Merville, 6-0, 6-4, while Borchenko topped Jonathan Aremon, 6-3, 6-1. LMU's final win came from Nava, as he topped Peter O'Donovan, 6-0, 4-6, 7-6.

Over the course of the three-day competition, Diaz Freire, Moenter and Moreno posted unblemished 3-0 records to help LMU to a 15-5 mark as a team. Charles Boyce, who did not play singles on Sunday, finished 2-0 over the first two days of play. Borchenko and Nava also had two wins over the three days. While they played with different partners throughout the weekend, Diaz Freire and Moenter each went 3-0 in doubles, as the Lions went 8-3 overall.

With the fall season now complete, LMU will return to action after the New Year, traveling to UCLA for a 2 p.m. match on January 23.
