GAMEDAY STORYLINES

Wallace came out of the gates on a mission, as she netted nine of LMU's 14 points in the first quarter. The sophomore hit on 3-of-5 from the floor and 3-of-4 from the free throw line to give the Lions the early lead at the end of the first, 14-12.

Johnson and Wallace opened the second stanza with back-to-back baskets before Lopez-Wood connected from mid-range to give the Lions their largest lead of the contest at 22-15 three minutes into the quarter. Santa Clara closed the gap to one possession at 22-20 midway through the frame, but the Lions held the Broncos without a field goal for the final 2:44 of the half to hold the upper hand at 30-26 heading into the break.

After shooting just 30.8 percent (4-for-13) in the first quarter, the Lions heated up in the second as they hit on 50.0 percent (7-for-14). Wallace provided the bulk of the damage for LMU as she notched 14 points in the first half, connecting on 5-for-9 shooting and added in four points from the charity stripe.

The Broncos opened the second half with a 10-4 run, while holding LMU to open 0-for-6 from the floor to hold a 36-34 edge midway though the third quarter. The Lions struggled shooting in the third, connecting on just 1-of-10 shooting, but were near-perfect at the free throw line, hitting on 9-of-10 to trail 45-41 heading into the last quarter.

LMU put the game within one possession thrice to open the fourth until a putback layup by Wallace tied it up at 49-49 with just over four minutes to go. However, the Broncos spurted a 6-2 streak en route to a 22-15 run to close out the game.

• The Lions turned in their second straight performance shooting over 75 percent from the charity stripe as they connected on 21-of-27 attempts.

• LMU matched a season high with 14 steals.
