Johnson Named WCC Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Following guiding the LMU women's basketball team to a 3-0 week, Jackie Johnson has been named the WCC Player of the Week, as announced by the conference Monday.

Johnson guided the Lions to wins against Seattle, UC Santa Barbara and Cal State Fullerton, notching double-digit scoring figures in all three contests, while posting double-doubles with 13 points and 12 rebounds against the Gauchos and followed with a career-high and WCC season-best 18 rebounds against the Titans. The senior also swatted a career-high five blocks and added in 14 points at Cal State Fullerton en route to guiding the Lions to their best start since the 2012-13 season.

The Eden Prairie, Minnesota native leads the conference with six double-doubles in nine games and is the only player to be averaging a double-double with 14.7 points and 11.4 rebounds per game.

On the week, Johnson averaged 13.3 points, 12.7 rebounds, 4.3 blocks and 2.3 assists per game.
