After dropping a pair of double dual meets against Seattle University and Grand Canyon University, LMU swimming will turn its attention back home as it prepares for a meet vs. San Diego on Saturday at Noon from the Burns Aquatics Center.
The Lions dropped Friday and Saturday meets to Seattle, 149-52 and 145-59, respectively, while coming up short against Grand Canyon, 140.5-61.5 and 158-43.
Senior Hannah Calton highlighted Friday's swim for LMU, placing second in the 100 butterfly (57.82) and third in the 200 freestyle (1:57.22). Freshman Lanna Kozlowski, the reigning D1 PCSC Swimmer of the Week, took third in the 500 freestyle, stopping the clock in 5:16.07. LMU's 400 freestyle relay of Calton, Jessica Gillis, Stacy Maier and Alyce-Faye Eichelberger also managed a strong finish, taking second with a time of 3:43.13.
Calton and Kozlowski again led the Lions on Saturday, with both swimmers earning a second-place finish. Kozlowski claimed the honor in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:47.82, while Calton nabbed second in the 200 butterfly at 2:07.07. Calton also earned fourth place in the 50 freestyle (24.71), while Kozlowski finished fourth in the 500 freestyle (5:17.32). Taylor Anderson (54.75 | 100 freestyle) and Keara Reilly (11:09.62 | 1000 freestyle) also took home fourth-place finishes on Saturday.
The Toreros last competed on October 22 when they swam at the UCLA Breast Cancer Awareness Meet. There, USD defeated Oregon State, but fell to UC Davis, Florida Gulf Coast, UCLA and UC Santa Barbara.
