SAN DIEGO - Scoring droughts have plagued LMU men's basketball all season and it hit them at the worst time, as they hit just two of their last 19 shots as San Diego used that to earn a 77-69 win in West Coast Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions (10-12, 3-8) opened the second half hitting eight of their first 10 shots and built a seven-point lead, 66-59, with 7:08 to play. However, the Lions would hit just 34.5 percent in the half as the Toreros (7-14, 2-8) outscored the Lions 18-3 the rest of the way.

"Scoring droughts have been hurting us all year," said Head Coach Mike Dunlap. "We had 15 turnovers against a team that doesn't press very much. Our execution down the back stretch was not good."

Adom Jacko led the Lions with his fourth straight 20-point game, going for 20 points and five rebounds before fouling out. Brandon Brown added 14 points and David Humphries went for eight points and matched a career-high with 10 rebounds.

Marcus Harris led the Toreros on a season-best three-point night, going for 23 points and hitting 4-for-8 from long range. USD went 10-for-20 from three and finished the game hitting 44.9 percent. The Lions, who shot 57.7 percent in the opening half, finished 45.5 percent from the field, 7-for-20 from three.

"I was disappointed in our defensive effort," said Dunlap. "They had a season-high in three-pointers and it was right there for us. We just didn't make plays and they did."

The Lions return home to take on Gonzaga, Thursday, Feb. 4 at 7 pm.
