LOS ANGELES - LMU women's soccer is back on the pitch as preseason training is underway for the 2015 season. The Lions kept busy during the summer and the LMU Sports Network caught up with a few of them as the second week of training began on Sullivan Field.
For freshman Sarina Bolden, the transition from high school and club soccer to college has been an exciting and challenging one thus far. With the level of competition raised, she has quickly learned that giving 100 percent effort 100 percent of the time is key, but something the competitive midfielder from Milpitas High School is ready for.
Bolden has also found a welcome familiarity on her new LMU squad as she is is one of four Lions who were once teammates on the DeAnza Force club team. Other former members include fellow freshman Gabbie Sanfilippo, redshirt freshman Emma Tyrnauer and sophomore Maddie Medved.
The Lions kick off the year with an exhibition match at UC Santa Barbara on Saturday, Aug. 15, followed by the official season-opener on Aug. 21 against Rutgers in the Penn State Tournament. LMU's home opener is slated for Saturday, Aug. 28 at 4 p.m. versus Bucknell.
