LOS ANGELES - The 2015 LMU men's water polo slate has been announced by Head Coach John Loughran, and this year's season will see twice as many regular season home games as last year.

In 2014, the LMU men's water polo program hosted seven regular season home games, and then used home pool advantage in the Western Water Polo Association Championships to advance to their 12th title game since 2000.

With key pieces still in place for the young squad, the Lions hope home pool advantage for 14 regular season games will play a key role for a high seeding in the 2015 WWPA Championships and strong footing for another change at a WWPA title. The 2015 Championships will be hosted by Air Force in Colorado Springs, Colo., Nov. 20-22.

The season will begin like so many before it, a trip to the UC San Diego Triton Invitational on Sept. 5-6. The Lions will play four games in La Jolla, before returning to the Burns Aquatics Center for their home opener against Wells Fargo PCH Cup rival Pepperdine on Sept. 11 at 3:30 pm.

LMU will also host Whittier and Pomona-Pitzer in a triple-header on Sept. 19 before playing the next three on the road, at UC San Diego (Sept. 23), a WWPA contest with Fresno Pacific (Sept. 26) and at UC Santa Barbara (Sept. 27).

The Lions will then have five straight at home, starting with UCLA on Oct. 3 at 12 pm. LMU will then co-host the 2015 SoCal Invitational with Pepperdine on Oct. 10-11. Featuring the best teams in college water polo, LMU will host eight games each day and the Waves will host eight games each day.

The Lions will then head to Air Force on Oct. 16 before playing two more at home, including Concordia on Oct. 22 and then the WWPA showdown with rival UCSD on Oct. 24 at 12 noon.

Another WWPA road match-up will break-up the Lions homstand as they travel to California Baptist on Oct. 29. It will be the final road game as the Lions close with four straight at home.

It starts with a WWPA game against Santa Clara on Oct. 31 at 12 noon, followed by back-to-back games against San Jose State and WWPA foe UC Davis, Nov. 6 and Nov. 7, respectively.

LMU and Long Beach State will continue their tradition of ending the season against each other as the 49ers come to LMU on Nov. 12 at 3 pm.
