May 29, 2015 Three LMU women's rowers were named Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) National Scholar-Athletes, the association announced Friday. Ashley Brown (Biology) and Monica Weaser (Engineering/Chemistry) earned a spot for the second straight year, while Mireia Ros (Chemistry) also earned a spot on the 2015 list.
Criteria for selected student-athletes included being in her second, third or fourth year of eligibility, carry a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher and rowed in her institution's NCAA or IRA eligible boat(s) for a minimum of 75% of the current spring races or racing in a regional conference event.
LMU had eight student-athletes on the list last year after placing four on the list in 2013.
LMU, guided by fourth-year head coach Dr. Vaclav Kacir, recently finished third at the 2015 West Coast Conference Rowing Championship.
