SOMIS, Calif. -The scores at the 2015 West Coast Conference Championships soared even higher on Wednesday for the final round and junior Connor Campbell went against that average to post the highest finish for a Lion since 2009.

The average round at Saticoy Country Club was at 78.43 for the first round on Monday and moved down to 76.18 on Tuesday. Wind made it even tougher for the final round as scores soared to an average of 80.61 on the 6,980 yard course.

Campbell was able to shoot five strokes better, posting a final round 75 to finish with a three-round 223. He finishes in third place overall, the best finish since Gregg Moss won the championship in 2009. The 75 was tied for the second best score in the final round, tied with three others. Pepperdine's Cody McManus used a 74, the best on the day, to vault to the WCC title.

The Lions finished the tournament in eighth place with a score of 944. The Waves, playing on their home course, won the tournament title with a three round 910.

Campbell's top-5 finish earns him first-team WCC All-Conference.
