Both the LMU women's and men's rowing programs will be in action this weekend as the men travel to Long Beach, Calif to compete against Long Beach State on Saturday while the women host San Diego State on Sunday.
The women most recently competed in an exhibition against UC Santa Barbara last weekend at the Jane Browne Bove Boathouse in Marina del Rey, Calif. The team will be back in the Marina on Sunday at 7 a.m. against the Aztecs.
San Diego State will spend two days in Marina del Rey, first competing against UCLA on Saturday morning. The weekend races will be the first for SDSU, who last hit competitive water at the San Diego Fall Classic in November of 2014.
Long Beach State will host its SoCal Opening Day on Saturday, with a boat dedication hosted by the Beach Crew Alumni Association also on tap. The 49er men were last in action on March 1 when they competed against USC and San Diego State at the Josh Gruenberg Cup which was hosted by the Trojans.
After this weekend's events,both the LMU men and women return to action on March 14. LMU will host UCLA at 7 a.m., while the men will travel to Irvine for the Parker Cup races.
