LOS ANGELES - LMU seniors Mackenzie Beck, Laura Lopez and Jordan White were recognized during the traditional Senior Day festivities in the final home game of the 2015 season, a 20-6 setback to No. 3 USC on Saturday afternoon. The trio have combined to play in 290 games as Lions.
Junior Ivana Castro led the Lions with four goals as the game sat tied at 4-4 after the first quarter. However, USC showed their ranking and scored the next 14 goals to take over the game. The Lions fall to 17-10 on the season while USC improves to 18-2.
On the game, the goalie White made seven saves in playing her 43rd game as a Lion. Lopez is second all-time in LMU history, playing in game number 125. Beck played in her 122nd game.
White moved her career saves total to 264, ranking in the top-10 all-time at LMU. She is an Education major and the daughter of Jeff White and Rozanne Franklin.
As for Lopez, she scored nine goals in the two GCC wins this week, giving her 156 in her career, ranking ninth all-time at LMU. She is also fifth in assists and 19th in steals. The Finanace major, who loves math, hopes to work in the finance industry and earn a master's degree. She is the daughter of Miguel and Alicia Lopez.
Beck, a three-time all-conference award winner, ranks eighth all-time at LMU with 157 goals. She is also 15th with 112 steals and 7th in kick-outs. She will graduate with a Business Marketing degree and hopes to work in marketing while also pursuing a chance to play professionally abroad. She is the daughter of Greg and Jennifer Beck.
The Lions will have Easter weekend off before traveling to California Baptist on Saturday, Apr. 11 in a Golden Coast Conference battle at 12 noon.
