LOS ANGELES- The nine-game home stand continued for LMU women's water polo on Thursday at the Burns Aquatics Center, and they claimed a 16-7 win over Azusa Pacific in Golden Coast Conference action.
The Lions improve to 16-9 on the season and 1-1 in GCC play. The Cougars fall to 7-12 and 0-2.
The Lions scored 10 first half goals to push them to the conference win. Laura Lopez had four goals and Ivana Castro added three, all in the first half. Seven others scored for the Lions. Taylor Whitney had three goals for the Cougars.
The home stand continues with another GCC match-up on Friday. The Lions will host Fresno Pacific at 4 pm.
