Lions Drop Matches to Florida State, USC

USC Pairs Tourney Results | Florida State and USC Results

The LMU sand volleyball team (1-4) dropped a pair of matches on Friday at USC, falling 5-0 to Florida State and the Trojans.

LMU's duo of Betsi Metter and Litara Keil did manage to record a victory in the round of 16 during Saturday's Pairs Tournament, defeating Hailey Luke and Sierra Sanchez of Florida State, 21-12, 21-11, to advance to the Quarterfinal round. There, the team lost to FSU's pair of Kristina Pellitteri and Stephanie Pellitteri, 21-11, 21-19.

Caitlin DeWitt and Hannah Tedrow, who lost in the round of 16 to Florida State's #2 team, recorded a victory in the consolation matches. Just as Metter and Keil did, DeWitt and Tedrow took down Luke and Sanchez, 21-17, 21-19.

LMU will return to action on March 20 when it travels to Malibu, Calif. to take on Pepperdine at 1 pm.
