SPOKANE - The Lions conclude their snowy trip to the Pacific Northwest on Saturday, Feb. 8, facing off against No. 15 Gonzaga at 2 p.m. in the McCarthey Center in Spokane, Wash. The game will air live in the local Spokane area on SWX with broadcasters Greg Heister and Stephanie Hawk Freeman. Fans can also tune in to the LMULions.com audio stream.

SETBACK IN PORTLAND
The Lions suffered a disappointing setback at Portland on Thursday, falling 84-66 to the Pilots in the Chiles Center. LMU could not overcome the Pilots' hot shooting night (58 percent, including 73.7 percent in the first half), while managing to shoot just 31.6 percent from the field themselves. Hazel Ramirez led LMU with 21 points and six assists while Mackenzie Kerins tallied her fourth double-double of the season with 16 points and an LMU record 25 rebounds.
REBOUNDING RECORD
Senior forward Mackenzie Kerins made the most of her final appearance in her home state, setting a school record for rebounds in a game on Thursday at Portland. The Eugene, Ore., native, hauled down 25 rebounds, including 15 on the offensive glass, besting her previous high by 12. The 25 boards is just the second 20-plus rebound performance in school history, besting the previous single-game record of 20, set by Miki Graf against Cal Poly on Dec. 13, 1991.
DISHING DIMES
Hazel Ramirez collected six assist on Thursday at Portland, bringing her season total to 127. That mark is tied for fourth in LMU's single-season record book and marks the second year in a row that the senior point guard has surpassed the century mark. She now sits 21 assists shy of the LMU single-season record (148, set by Kristen Bruich in 1988-89). She also leads the WCC with 5.8 apg.
Her 127 assists this season brings Ramirez's career total to 413, good for third place in LMU's all-time record book. Next in line is Kristen Bruich (1988-91) with 429. The all-time LMU record is 441, set by Marlee Webb in 1993-96.
FRESHMAN ON FIRE
Leslie Lopez-Wood hit four three's in five straight games and added two more on Thursday at Portland. The rookie, who has a single-game high of six - one shy of the LMU record - now has 52 three's on the year, good for the all-time LMU freshman record. She enters Saturday's game at Gonzaga ranked sixth in the LMU single-season record book. Next on the list, in fifth, is Lisa Helmers (2008-09) who hit 54 threes in a single-season. The all-time LMU record is 67, set in back-to-back seasons by Amanda Patton (2005-06 and 2006-07).
SPREAD THE WEALTH
Five players scored in double-figures versus Pepperdine on Feb. 1, marking the fourth time this season that a quintet of players have achieved the feat in a game. Prior to this season, the last time LMU had five players reach double figures in a game was Jan. 21, 2010 versus Portland.
The Lions have also had four players in double-figures five times this season, including Jan. 23 versus Gonzaga.
Six different players have led the scoring column in a game, including Ramirez (9), Deanna Johnson (7), Leslie Lopez-Wood (2), Sophie Taylor (2), Emily Ben-Jumbo (1) and Chelsea Barnes (1).
ABOUT THE GONZAGA BULLDOGS
Gonzaga remained perfect at home this season with an 86-51 win over visiting Pepperdine Thursday. The Zags, who moved up to No. 15 in the latest national ranking, are now 21-3 overall and 11-1 in WCC play. Haiden Palmer leads the Zags with 15.4 ppg and 5.5 rpg. Sunny Greinacher (11.9 ppg) and Lindsay Sherbert (10.8 ppg) also average double figures for Gonzaga, which holds a +22.3 point scoring margin over its opponents. The Zags also average a +7.5 rebounding edge and commit 7.5 fewer turnovers per game. They are currently riding an 11-game win streak dating back to Dec. 30 at Pacific. Their lone league blemish is a 79-78 overtime loss at Saint Mary's.
