LOS ANGELES -- -- Sophomore goalie Claire Wright leads the Golden Coast Conference in saves and her performance last week at the UC Irvine Invitational earned her Player of the Week honors as the Lions will play their first home game of the season on Saturday.

The Lions begin their home portion of the schedule when they host No. 2 UCLA at the Burns Aquatics Center on Saturday, Mar. 1 at 1 pm. Games to the 2014 season at LMU are free. The only exception will be the 2014 ZUMA LMU Invitational on Mar. 21-22. It will be presented by the Lions Athletic Fund with ticket sales benefiting LMU women's water polo.

Wright made 39 saves in playing all but one quarter for the Lions. She allowed just 6.25 goals per game in helping the Lions to three wins, including a 13-12 overtime win over No. 11 San Jose State in the ninth-place game. Wright leads the GCC with 120 saves while allowing just 90 goals (good for a 7.50 GAA).

The Lions enter the game at 8-4 on the season after going 3-1 at the UCI Invite. LMU and UCLA have met once already this season with the Bruins taking a 15-6 win at the UCLA Invitational on Jan. 19. UCLA is 15-2 on the season falling in overtime to No. 1 USC at the UCI Invitational championship.
