LOS ANGELES -The television and broadcast reach of the West Coast Conference and that of LMU men's basketball continues to grow, reaching all-time highs in numbers, and 2014-15 will be the greatest yet. The WCC announced its regional television line-up for the upcoming conference season and the Lions will be a feature attraction.
The Lions will have at least 19 of their games in 2014-15 broadcast on an over-the-air stations, including ESPN, Time Warner Cable SportsNet, Comcast SportsNet, and Root Sports as part of the WCC television partnership. The Lions will also be on the Pac-12 Network three times in non-conference play and will make three ESPN appearances at the 2014 Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic, Dec. 22-25.
Highlighting the 2014-15 regional schedule is the Saturday, 1 pm, WCC Game of the Week. The Lions will appear a record four times, starting with Saturday, Jan. 3 against Saint Mary's at Gersten Pavilion. The other three include Saturday, Jan. 17 against Gonzaga for the 2015 Homecoming and Jersey Black Out Game; Saturday, Jan. 31 at Pacific and Saturday, Feb. 7 against BYU at Gersten Pavilion for the 2015 Family Weekend Game.
The Lions will also appear on TWCSN for Dec. 29 against Pepperdine to start conference at 6 pm, at San Diego on Jan. 8 for an 8 pm tipoff, Feb. 19 at home against San Francisco at 8 pm and at Pepperdine on Feb. 28 for a 3 pm tip-off.
Root Sports will broadcast the Lions' trip to the Pacific Northwest, including Gonzaga on Feb. 12 at 6 pm and Portland on Feb. 14 at 7 pm. Comcast SportsNet will do the Lions' game at Santa Clara on Jan. 22 (8 pm) and at Saint Mary's on Jan. 29 (7:30 pm). BYUtv will broadcast the Lions' trip to Provo on Jan. 10 for a 6 pm (PT) tip.
The remaining games in 2014-15 will be streamed live on either the LMU Sports Network (all of non-conference home games) and on TheW.tv (remaining WCC home games - Jan. 1 vs. Pacific, 1 pm; Jan. 15 vs. Portland, 7 pm; Jan. 24 at San Francisco, 6 pm; Feb. 5 vs. San Diego, 7 pm; Feb. 21 vs. Santa Clara, 3 pm).
The 2014-15 season begins with an exhibition game against UC San Diego on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 7 pm, followed by the official start of the Mike Dunlap era for the LMU Classic on Nov. 14-15 at Gersten Pavilion.
