Rowing Heads to 50th Annual Head of the Charles Regatta

Head of the Charles Schedule

The LMU rowing team, led by fourth-year head coach Dr. Vaclav Kacir, will be represented at one of the biggest regattas in the world this week, as the Lions will send a boat to compete in the Women's Championship Fours at the 2014 Head of the Charles Regatta (HOCR) on Sunday.

Celebrating its 50th race, the HOCR is the world's largest two-day regatta, attracting more than 11,000 rowers and 400,000 spectators to the banks of the Charles River. Racing takes place on Saturday, October 18 and Sunday, October 19, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. The Regatta attracts youth, collegiate, masters, para-rowing, international, world champion, and Olympic athletes competing in 61 events.

LMU's lineup in the Fours will be:
Stroke: Mireia Ros, 3. Briar Murphy, 2. Toni Boteva, 1. Jessica Kegel, coxswain: Emma Wright

After competing at the Head of the Charles, LMU will return to action on October 25 at the Head of the American in Sacramento, Calif.
