SAN FRANCISCO -- The Lions continued to struggle in the Bay Area this weekend, dropping two WCC matches. After the third straight 4-3 defeat Friday at Santa Clara, the LMU men's tennis team fell 5-2 at USF on Saturday. LMU is now 2-15 overall and 0-3 in conference play, while the Dons improved to 8-5-1 overall and 1-2 in conference.

In an unusual circumstance, the singles round was played first, where LMU only managed to secure two wins. The Dons dominated at the top, winning on Courts 1, 2, 3, and 5. On Court 4, Sebastian Bustamante won 6-3, 6-3 and has now won five of his last seven singles matches. On Court 6, Felix Van Kann won 6-3, 6-2 and has now won six of his last eight matches.

In the doubles round, which would be inconsequential for the win/loss result, LMU won on Court 2 as Jack Zapala and Daniel Simko got the 8-5 victory. Zapala and Simko haven't gotten much playing time in singles lately, but have been synching as a doubles pair, winning their past three doubles matches. The Lions, however, would lose on Courts 1 and 3, giving the doubles point to USF.

The Lions will head to the Northwest next weekend to face Portland on Friday, April 5 and Gonzaga on Saturday, April 6.
