LOS ANGELES - Ten LMU softball players were among a record 138 student-athletes named to the 2012 Pacific Coast Softball Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll, the league announced Tuesday. To make the honor roll, a student-athlete had to record a 3.0 cumulative GPA for the 2011-12 academic year.

Earning recognition from the Lion squad were junior catcher Olivia Alvarez (3.03 GPA, sociology), sophomore catcher Kathryn Dutton (3.25 GPA, political science), senior shortstop Sam Fischer (3.05 GPA, business administration), redshirt freshman Lyndsay Flartey (3.06, communication studies), sophomore third baseman Meghan Harman (3.58, natural science), junior outfielder Leilani Montalvo (3.32, psychology), senior outfielder Brittany Pereda (3.31, business administration), junior third baseman Skylar Segura (3.19, communication studies), freshman second baseman Sterling Shuster (3.75, film production) and junior outfielder Danielle Smith (3.07, economics).

Ten of the league's 12 member institutions had at least 10 student-athletes named to the honor roll, including LMU. PCSC champion Portland State had 15, Northern Colorado and San Diego had 14 each, Sacramento State and Weber State had 13 each, Idaho State had 12, Santa Clara and Utah Valley had 11 each and Cal State Bakersfield had 10. Seattle (8) and Saint Mary's (7) round out the league's members.
