LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The LMU swimming team was named to The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-American list for its work during the spring 2011 semester. The Lions combined for a 3.29 GPA over the course of the semester, matching the University of Richmond, University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and Cornell University.
LMU was one of 98 Division I teams honored by the CSCAA, with the top-honor going to Ball State with a 3.60 team GPA. The Lions led a quartet of teams from the MPSF, as San Diego (3.23), UC Santa Barbara (3.17) and Northern Colorado (3.10) were each lauded.
The Scholar All-American team honor is awarded twice a year, once after each semester. Eligible teams must hold a 3.0 GPA (or converted on a 4.0 scale) or better to be selected.
