Final Stats
LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The LMU Men's tennis team suffered another tough loss today to the University of Hawaii 7-0. Hawaii is ranked 74th nationally as a team and the Lions were unable to get a win against the warriors.
In doubles play all three courts were close concessions. On court one Simko/Bjerke dropped the match 8-6 to Rosenber/Casanova while Gottshall/Price also held strong going 8-5 to Llarenas/Schuster. On court two, Wilton and Bustamante were unable to hold onto Brooklyn/Lajola falling 8-3. These wins gave Hawaii the early lead and the Lions were unable to hold on in singles.
In singles play, the Lions were unable to get a win over the warriors setting them back 7-0 overall for the match. Nicholas Bjerke took Jeremy Tweedt of Hawaii to three sets but was unable to take the lead in the tie-breaker falling 10-7.
Tomorrow the Lions are looking to bounce back with a wing over University of Hawaii Pacific in their last match in the Hawaii road trip. The Lions will play at 3:00 pm tomorrow afternoon.
