Coming off a much needed six-day rest, LMU will return to Gersten Pavilion to end a six-game homestand when they host Idaho State on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. The Lions finished a stretch of six games in 12 days going 4-2 and will now play four more non-conference games before the revamped West Coast Conference schedule begins on Dec. 31. This is the second meeting of the season between the Bengals (2-6) and the Lions (5-4), with LMU earning a 79-76 overtime win in Pocatello, Idaho, on Nov. 23. The game will be broadcast on Lions' All-Access through LMULions.com and can be heard on KXLU 88.9 FM.

LMU will conclude its longest homestand since 1995 (six games) when they face Idaho State on Saturday. The Lions are coming off a stretch of six games in 12 days (Nov. 23 - Dec. 4), going 4-2 in the stretch, including a 79-76 overtime win at Idaho State to start the stretch and a 75-68 win over No. 23 Saint Louis. The Lions are 5-4 on the season... The Lions started the season with a 69-58 win over No. 17 UCLA and with the win over the Billikens, they have now beaten a ranked-opponent in consecutive chances for the first time since defeating three straight in the 1989-90 NCAA Tournament (New Mexico State, Michigan, Alabama). The Lions have won three of their last four games against ranked opponents... In the win over NAU, LMU had six players reach double-figures in scoring for the first time since defeating Seattle University, 104-89, on December 20, 2009. The Lions had 21 assists on 30 field goals, and finished the game outrebounding NAU 49-34, grabbing 21 offensive boards in the process. Rebounding was a team effort, as seven players had five or more rebounds on the game... The Lions continued the team play against Saint Louis with three players scoring 16 or better, including a career-best 22 from LaRon Armstead. He also led the Lions with five rebounds and went 10-for-10 from the charity stripe, including hitting all six in the final 40 seconds of the game. He led the Lions with 16 points and seven rebounds against North Texas. Armstead is fourth on the active roster with 9.7 points per game, averaging nearly 14 points per game the last four outings... The Lions are one of the best in the league in turnover margin, ranking second at +2.56. They forced the Billikens into a season-high 15 turnovers for an 18-8 edge in points off turnovers. They held a 28-8 edge against Columbia thanks to forcing a season-best 24 turnovers on a season-best 13 steals. They then forced 21 turnovers on 12 steals against La Sierra for a 26-12 edge in points off turnovers. The Lions are third in turnovers per game at 12.7 (just two-tenths from leader Saint Mary's who is 12.5) and third in forced turnovers at 15.2. Although early, the lowest tunover average in school history was 11.7 in 1983-84 with the second lowest coming two years ago in 2009-10 at 12.9 tpg... The Lions improved to 2-0 on the road this season, winning its first two road games of the season for the first time since 1995-96, after the 79-76 win over Idaho State on Nov. 26.
GAME #10 - SHIRTS4SOULS
This is game 10 of the Lions' 2011-12 Centennial Season and fans are reminded to bring t-shirts and hoddie sweatshirts for LMU's Shirts4Souls campaign this season. Collection bins are located throughout Gersten Pavilion and fans are asked to bring shirts and hodded sweatshirts to the games on Saturday. The men's game will follow the women's game, which is against Portland State at 2 p.m... This will be the second game between LMU and Idaho State since Nov. 23. The Lions earned a 79-76 overtime win in Pocatello thanks to 25 points, four assists, four rebounds, and four steals from sophomore Anthony Ireland. He scored the final six points of overtime to overcome a game that featured 25 lead changes and 11 ties (see the box score on page 19)... The Bengals just concluded a stretch where it played three games in six days. They went 1-2 during the stretch, beating North Dakota at home 76-63 and losing on the road at New Mexico, 65-41 and at Boise State, 79-55. Melvin Morgan led the Bengals offensively by averaging 13.7 points a game in the three games while Chase Grabau averaged 10. Garrett Swanson had his coming out party as the walk on freshman played 24 minutes a game, averaged 8.7 points and 4.7 rebounds.
