Men's Tennis Earns All-Conference Honors

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -

The West Coast Conference announced its 2010 All-WCC Men's Tennis team and postseason award winners, as voted on by the conference coaches on Thursday. Ivan Lopez and Otto Sauer garner first team honors for doubles while Ivan Lopez repeats first team honors in singles.

Ivan Lopez of the LMU tennis team received first team WCC honors in singles for his performance at the WCC Championship Tournament last weekend. Lopez who was 14-7 overall in singles during the regular season and was 2-1 at the WCC tournament. He played consistently at the Lion's number one position all season and led the team in wins in both singles and doubles.

Lopez and transfer Otto Sauer also earned first team honors for doubles. The duo only had one loss during the tournament going 2-1 overall and 14-7 on the regular season. The Lino's top duo had a consistent winning record over top teams from across the nation with five straight wins earlier in the season.

For the second year in a row that the Waves have garnered all three postseason awards and won the WCC title. The Waves continued their dominance at this year's Championship, earning their 20th consecutive WCC title and automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
