VALLEJO, Calif. - The final round of the 2010 West Coast Conference Men's Golf Championship was no different for LMU and the rest of eight-team field as the Hiddenbrooke Golf Course and the weather conditions dominated play. Just three players in the 40-man field posted par or better on the final day Tuesday, as the Lions finish with a three-round score of 950, good for eighth place.
On Tuesday, with the course becoming more than 150 yards longer than the first two rounds, a 71 was the lowest round of the day. Two players posted a 72 while five others shot a 73, including LMU sophomore Jake Sarnoff.
The second-year Lion finished in a tie for 17th at this year's championship, posting a three-round 230. He opened the tournament with an 80 and then posted a 77 in the second round. For the entire tournament out of 120 rounds, there were just 11 at par or less.
Senior Blake Nicolai finished his career with a final round 76 and in a tie for 29 with a 235. Rounding out the Lions' scoring was Bryan Berna in a tie for 32nd after a 240, junior John Lim at 37th with a 245 and freshman Boris Stantchev in 40th with a 263.
