Malibu, Calif. - LMU could not sustain the momentum of having won four of its last six matches, falling 7-0 at Pepperdine in a West Coast Conference contest on Thursday in Malibu. With the win, the 23rd-ranked Waves extend their lead in the PCH Challenge to 9.5-7.5.
LMU dropped the doubles point, with all three matches ending with an 8-3 scoreline. In the singles, Ivan Lopez got off to a strong start at #1, taking the first set off of 58th-ranked Sebastian Fanselow, but the upset was not to be as Fanselow came back for a 1-6, 6-2, 6-2 win.
The Lions are back in action on Tuesday, April 6 in a non-conference match against UC Riverside at the LMU Tennis Center.
