Results

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Lions fall to top conference team USD, but show promise in doubles and top singles play. Lopez/Sauer earn big win and defeat USD's top doubles win 8-3.

Lion's number one duo, junior Ivan Lopez and sophomore Otto Sauer came out on top with a big win against USD's top doubles team Jackson/Schive 8-3. Even with their big win, the Lions could not stop the toreros to secure the doubles point. On court two, Malet/Maggi lost a close 8-6 while on court three Zapala/Bazula also came close to USD going 8-6. While the Toreros secured the doubles point, the Lion's put up a good fight in doubles with some close sets against one of the top teams in the conference.

In singles play the Lions only victory came from Johan Berhof at the number six position. Berhof defeated Casey Powers of USD 6-0, 1-6, 6-1 to secure the Lion's only singles point of the day. Lopez pushed USD's number one singles player Dean Jackson to three sets going 6-2, 5-7, 7-5 while on court two senior Borja Malet also pushed USD's Visy to three sets 1-6, 6-2, 6-0.

Next up, the Lions will travel to Azuza Pacific for a non-conference match this Saturday at 1:30 pm.
