Dec. 18, 2009

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -

After completing finals this week, the LMU swimming team will hit the water against Cal Baptist and Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday at 12 p.m. at Burns Aquatics Center. The home double-dual meet, which will also feature men's competition between Cal Baptist and Bakersfield, will be the first of the season for the Lions.

The Lions last competed at the AT&T Short Course National Championships from December 3-5. There, LMU's 200 freestyle relay team of Carolyn Pasque, Isabella Zhang, Camille Hopp and Anne Scott combined for a time of 1:35.25. The Lions' time put them in the "B" final, where they finished third in that race (11th overall) with a time of 1:34.83. Scott went on to become the lone Lion to compete in an individual final, finishing the preliminaries for the 100 freestyle in 50.85. That mark put her in a tie for 25th overall en route to a spot the `C' final. Scott swam nearly an identical race in the final, stopping the clock in 50.84 to claim 21st overall and fifth in the `C' final.
