Los Angeles, CA (March 21) -- Loyola Marymount senior Cara Colton has been named the Western Water Polo Association Women's Player of the Week for March 21 as she led the Lions to a 5-0 week with 16 goals. The Lions have won seven straight and moved to No. 10 in this week's national poll.

Colton was nearly unstoppable for the Lions, doubling her season total in goals as she now has 31 on the season. Her record week including a six-goal game against Indiana, just the fifth player in LMU history to score six or more goals in a single game.

She added four steals and two assists in the game against the Hoosiers. She also had three goals in the win over Bucknell, two more in the win over Brown, another hat-trick in the victory over No. 17 Michigan and another pair in the win over Wagner. She now has 31 on the season to rank third on the squad, allowing her career total to move to 91, good for ninth all-time in LMU history. She also needs just three more assists to crack into the top-10 all-time.

The Lions host rival and 7th-ranked UC Davis at the Burns Recreation and Aquatics Center on Saturday, March 24 at 12 noon.
