Pomona, CA (Nov. 17) -- For the seventh straight year the Loyola Marymount men's water polo team has advanced to the semifinals of the Western Water Polo Association championship. The Lions, the second seed, defeated seventh-seed Pomona-Pitzer in their home pool, 5-4, Friday afternoon.
With the win the Lions improve to 17-12 on the season and will face UC Davis in the semifinalsfor the third straight year. The Lions won 9-6 in 2005 and 7-6 in overtime in 2004.
The Aggies defeated Redlands 9-6 to advance to the semifinals. The rest of the results:
