Game #5 - LMU 8, Santa Clara 5

Host and second-seed Loyola Marymount University earned a 8-5 win over seventh-seeded Santa Clara Thursday afternoon in game five of the Western Water Polo Association Men's Water Polo Championships at the Burns Recreation Center.

With the win, the Lions advance to Friday's semifinals to face No. 3 seed UC Davis at 11:10 a.m.. LMU improves to 16-15 on the season, while the Broncos fall to 15-15 after defeating Pomona-Pitzer in the early game Thursday.

Brian McShane and Endre Rex-Kiss each had three goals for the Lions. Whit Gilfillan and Patrick Noack scored two goals in the final two minutes for the Broncos, but the Lions held off the final SCU push for the 8-5 win.
