Top-Ranked Stanford Defeats No. 11 Lions

Stanford, CA -- The No. 11 Lions were defeated 13-5 by the No. 1 Stanford Cardinal Friday in a non-conference match at the Avery Aquatics Center.

Loyola Marymount's leading scorer, Stephen Lipinksi, was held to a single goal in the match, as Kris Barr led the Lions with his two.

Stanford was led by Azvedo, a member of the 2000 US Olympic Team, who leads the Cardinal in scoring with 21 goals on the season.

The Lions continue their road trip on Saturday when they open the NorCal Tournament to UC Santa Barbara (9:40 a.m.) in the first round of the tournament. A total of fifteen teams are competing in the tournament, thirteen of which are nationally ranked.
