Briefly... Erik Johnson is in his first season with LMU baseball after transferring from UC Irvine... is now taking graduate classes at LMU... will compete for time in right field... hit the ball well for the Lions in the fall... coaches feel he is physical, fast, and an overall good addition to the LMU outfield... At UC Irvine... was a 2005 Big West Scholar-Athlete and hit .352 in Big West play for the Anteaters... among the team leaders with a .417 on-base percentage and a .556 slugging percentage in conference action...2004... started 31 games and hit .288... tallied 32 hits, seven doubles, and four home runs... ranked fourth on the team with 31 RBI and had multiple-RBI in 10 games... sat out second half of the season due to injury...2003...utilized redshirt season... 2002...made 11 starts and 27 appearances... had one run on four hits and went 1-for-1 in stolen bases... High School... a 2001 graduate of Chaminade College Prep in West Hills, CA... as a senior, hit .404 with five home runs to lead team to the 2001 Mission League championship... was a Team One national player... also a Los Angeles Daily News 2001 all-star... prep coach was Scott Drootin... Personal... Erik Avery Johnson was born August 16, 1983 in Lakewood, CO... son of Jayne and Walt Johnson... has one sister, Haley... competed in the 1996 Little League World Series... earned his undergraduate degree in political science at UCI and is now working toward a masters degree in education.
