Jillian Hadder

Jillian Hadder

Hadder joins the Lions after spending the past nine years at the University of Miami, where she served as associate head coach and recruiting coordinator.

During her time with the Hurricanes, Hadder played a pivotal role in the program's success, guiding Miami to six NCAA Tournament appearances, including five trips to the second round. In the 2024 season, she helped lead the Hurricanes to marquee victories over No. 1 Texas, No. 5 Standford, and No. 15 Georgia Tech.

The program also achieved national recognition in 2021, finishing 14th in NCAA RPI and 25th in the AVCA Poll while posting a program-best 25-5 record. That same season, Miami ranked 16th nationally in blocks per set (2.65). Under Hadder's leadership, multiple players earned All-ACC First Team, AVCA All-America, and AVCA East Coast Region honors.

Prior to Miami, Hadder spent two seasons at Mercer University, where she coached both indoor and beach volleyball as an assistant coach and recruiter coordinator. Specializing in defensive strategy, she helped Mercer rank 14th nationally in total service aces and 12th in aces per set (2.7) in 2015. She also mentored SoCon All-Conference selections, including Paige Alsten, who set Mercer's single-season record for blocks (135) as a freshman.

Hadder began her collegiate coaching career in 2013 as an assistant at UMass Lowell, her alma mater. A 2011 graduate with a degree in psychology, she was a standout player for the River Hawks, earning four Freshman of the Week honors and three All-Conference selections. She was a key contributor to UMass Lowell's 2010 conference championship team—the first in program history.

In 2011, she joined the 1,000-1,000 Club, becoming the second athlete in school history to achieve the milestone. She remains in the program's top 10 all-time in career kills (7th) and digs (9th). Hadder earned multiple academic accolades off the court, including a spot on the ESPN District 1 All-Academic Third Team and five appearances on the NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Following graduation, Hadder played professionally overseas with Lyngby-Gladsaxe Volley and Fortuna-Odense Volley, where she also gained coaching experience.

Beyond collegiate coaching, Hadder has served as an assistant coach representative for the ACC with AVCA and is currently an assistant coach and scouting network coach for the USA National Team Development Program.
