PRIOR TO LMU
GRAND CANYON

2024 | Junior
  • Had a breakout junior season that netted All-WAC first-team honors as a designated hitter.
  • After entering 2024 with six at bats and no hits, was named WAC Hitter of the Week for Opening Weekend. In the opener against Georgetown, he had three hits. In a nationally televised Saturday blowout of USC, he homered twice.
  • His .558 slugging percentage ranked second among qualifying GCU hitters.
  • One of three Lopes with double-digit home runs (10).
  • Had 11 multi-hit games including four three-hit games.
  • Had an 11-game hit streak from March 2 to March 22 that included games at UTSA, vs. Oregon, at Stephen F. Austin, vs. Tarleton State, at Arizona and at UT Rio Grande Valley.
  • Was a part of two back-to-back homer sequences: Feb. 24 vs. Nebraska (with Zach Yorke) and March 3 at UTSA (with Tyler Wilson).

  • Had six at bats in five games with two starts in his freshman campaign.

HIGH SCHOOL
  • Had a decorated prep career, including an All-Region Offensive Player of the Year honor, two first-team all-conference selections and two Desert Vista Athlete of the Year awards.
  • Hit .438 over a three-year varsity career including 79 RBIs and 16 home runs.
  • Homered at Chase Field on April 13, 2019, a Baseball Day Arizona broadcast on FOX Sports Arizona. It came against Corona del Sol opponent and now fellow GCU teammate Cade Verdusco. He cites it as the top memory of his high school career.
  • A two-time scholar athlete honoree.

  • Parents are Chris and Dana Ankeney.
  • Grandfather, Gary Fite, played baseball and basketball at LMU
  • Older brother, Eli, was concurrently on GCU's roster with Beau in 2022, wrapping a three-year Lopes' career. Eli was a 20th-round pick of the New York Mets in the 2022 MLB Draft. Beau cites Eli as his biggest personal influence on his baseball career.
  • Favorite TV shows are The OfficeBreaking Bad and Peaky Blinders.
  • His favorite athletes to watch growing up include Paul Goldschmidt, Larry Fitzgerald and Mike Trout.
