Karie Huchting returns to LMU for the second time, entering her fifth overall season on the Lions[apos] coaching staff as the volunteer assistant coach. In addition to serving as a volunteer assistant coach, Huchting is also the team psychologist. A former Lion soccer player, Huchting graduated from LMU in 2000 and earned her Master[apos]s Degree from LMU in 2004. She recently completed work on a Ph.D. in Social Psychology and is a faculty member in the LMU School of Education. She also is a research consultant for the Division of Student Affairs. In 2010-11, Huchting was recognized on campus with an LMU Advisor of the Year award. Huchting began her coaching career at Culver City High School and has worked as a counselor at LMU soccer camps since she was a student-athlete. Huchting had an illustrious career as a Lion, earning the LMU Female Scholar-Athlete award in 1999 and 2000. She earned WCC honorable mention honors in 1996 and 1998 and was named the team[apos]s Rookie of the Year in 1996 and Most Inspirational in 1999.
