Sherry Fra

Sherilyn Frazier

Sherilyn Frazier has been an Athletic Academic Advisor for the Lions since 2008. She currently oversees the academic success for softball, women’s basketball, and both indoor and beach volleyball.

Beyond her role in academics, she is an orientation instructor, helping 1st year and transfer students get integrated into LMU’s campus community. She is the co-professor of The Playbook: Strategies of Career Development for Student-Athletes with Bobby Thompson. For two consecutive terms, beginning in 2019, Sherry served as a Staff Senate Representative on the Signature Events Committee, contributing to the success of marquee campus events such as the holiday party and staff appreciation week events, including the highly anticipated staff BBQ. Additionally, she works as a Student Affairs Resource Administrator (SARA), providing resources for students who may have experienced sexual or interpersonal misconduct. A key pillar in Sherry’s life is her faith and relationship with Jesus Christ, which has driven her to lead the Lions in Action Bible study for student-athletes, and she has been a member of the LMU Gospel Choir.

A former student-athlete herself, Sherry played Division I basketball at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in child development and a minor in Psychology. She went on to obtain her master’s from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania with a degree in Counseling and Educational Psychology. In addition to her professional commitments, Sherry enjoys spending time with her family, singing, and working in ministry at Southside Christian Palace Church.
