Lauren Unger

Lauren Unger

Unger comes to LMU from Cal State Northridge where she served as the assistant coach for two seasons. Before becoming an assistant coach, Unger served as the volunteer assistant coach for the Matadors during the 2020-2021 season.
 
Prior to her time at CSUN, Unger held the position of head coach at Western New Mexico from 2016-2020. During her tenure, she played a major role in guiding the Mustangs through the transition to the Lone Star Conference, which is known as the largest and most competitive NCAA Division II conference.
 
Before her stint at WNMU, Unger worked as an assistant coach at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, where she also served as the head coach for the women's cross-country team for three seasons.
 
Unger is a graduate of the University of Texas Permian Basin, where she played four seasons with the Falcons and was named the team MVP in 2012. She also contributed to the Falcons' first-ever Heartland Conference Championship win in 2011. After completing her undergraduate studies, Unger became the graduate assistant for the team.
 
A native of San Jose, CA, Unger completed her high school education at Midland High School in Midland, TX, graduating in 2008.
