Jhasmin Player enters her first season as LMU’s assistant coach and recruiting coordinator in 2018-19. Before coming to LMU, Player spent two seasons at the University of Maine, where she held numerous positions including, director of operations, assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. Player worked under America East Coach of the Year, Amy Vachon and Richard Barron. While at UMaine, Player was in charge of guard skill development, liaison to the training room, equipment room and academic support. Player also helped organize & run UMaine’s WBB summer camps.
 
In 2018 Player led the UMaine Black Bears to the America East regular season title and the America East Tournament Championship. With a 23-9 record and 15 seed, the Black Bears made their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2004. In 2017 UMaine finished with a 18-16 record and played in the America East Championship game where they fell to University at Albany.
 
As the guard coach at UMaine Player was very instrumental in the development of America East Award recognized players, as four players were named to All-Conference teams during her time.
 
Prior to her second stint at UMaine, Player spent five seasons in Europe playing professional basketball, giving her an advantage when recruiting internationally.  Player played in Portugal, Spain & Poland. Player rewrote European record books in 2014, after averaging 39.9 points per game. Player also spent one season with the WNBA Franchise, Atlanta Dream. 
 
Player returned to the UMaine community where she spent the 2011-13 seasons working with individual skill development as well as serving as the team's liaison to strength and conditioning and the equipment and scout team director. Player helped recruit in Maine's nine-member 2012 class which was ranked as the No. 36 class that year by Blue Star Basketball, which produced a pair of America East regular season championships.
 
A native of Bay City, Texas Player graduated from Baylor University in  2009. Player was a four-year member for the Bears' basketball team, earning captain honors for her junior and senior seasons. At Baylor, Player guided the team to four NCAA tournament appearances and a 2009 Big 12 Tournament Championship.  Player was named to the Big 12 All-Tournament Team in 2009 and also earned Big 12 All-Defensive Team and Second-Team All-Conference honors during her collegiate career.
