IN 2020-21 REDSHIRT SENIOR… One of three players to play in all 22 games, making 11 starts… Broke his own school record with a 63.5 field goal percentage… Averaged 9.7 points per game and 6.0 rebounds per game in 21.1 minutes per game of action… Started the final six games of the season… Opened the season with 19 points in 23 minutes as LMU defeated Southern Utah (11/25/20)… Recorded his first double-double of the season with a career-high 25 points on 10-for-12 shooting and 13 rebounds to win on the road at Portland (1/25/21)… Grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds and added 11 points for a double-double in the road win at San Francisco (2/18/21)… Scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for a double-double at #1 and eventual NCAA Tournament finalist Gonzaga (2/27/21)… Averaged over 16 points per game and over seven rebounds per game over his final four games of his career, including two WCC Tournament games.
IN 2019-20 REDSHIRT SEASON… Markusson did not play in the 2019-20 season due to personal reasons.
IN 2018-19 JUNIOR… Played in all 34 games, tying the program record for most games played in a single season… Started 33 games (only coming off the bench on senior day), tying him for second-most starts in program history for a single season… Scored a season-high 22 points in the win over UC Davis (12/28/18)… Jamaica Classic Montego Bay Division All-Tournament Team after averaging 10.5 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game in wins over Georgetown (11/16/19) and Ohio (11/18/19)… Led the Lions with 19 points and six rebounds in the WCC Tournament game against Pepperdine (3/8/19)… Led the team with three double-doubles on the season, moving into a tie for 18thin the program record books… Recorded double-doubles in home wins over CSUN (11/13/19) with 15 points and 12 rebounds, Portland (1/5/19) with 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Pepperdine (1/19/19) with 11 points and 12 rebounds… Tied his career-high with three blocked shots against Florida A&M (11/24/18), and ranks eighth all-time in LMU history with 76 career blocked shots… Recorded a career-high four assists in the CBI win over Brown (3/25/19)… All-WCC Honorable Mention Team
IN 2017-18 SOPHOMORE… Played in all 31 games, making 30 starts... Broke the program record with 62.1 percent shooting from the field, finishing second in the WCC... Totaled six double-doubles on the year to tie for the team high... Ranked sixth in the conference at 2.2 offensive rebounds per game... Grabbed 6.3 rebounds per game, good for second-most on the team and ninth-best in the WCC... Led the team with 34 blocks, tying him for 14th on the single season program record list... Scored in double-figures in 14 games, including a career-high 19 on nine made field goals in the win at Santa Clara (2/22/18)... Set a career-high with 14 rebounds against San Francisco (2/17/18) to go along with 17 points in his double-double performance... Finished a perfect 5-for-5 from the field for 12 points at Pacific (12/30/17)... Dished out a career-high three assists in the home win over Pacific (2/24/18)… Earned WCC All-Academic Team honors
IN 2016-17 FRESHMAN… Played in 25 of the Lions' 29 regular season games and enters WCC Championships averaging 2.3 points and 1.5 rebounds per contest... had 13 blocks on the season... Had eight points and eight rebounds in opener against Vanguard (11/11/16)... had seven points, five rebounds and three blocks in 13 minutes at No. 5 Gonzaga (1/12/17).
BEFORE LMU… Markusson, a 7-3 center, has played the last two seasons before joining LMU for Jamtland Basket in Sweden, playing at both the first and second division... last season in 20 games for the second division he averaged 17.2 points and 12.4 rebounds, hitting 64.4 percent from the field and 2.0 blocks a contest... he played in 61 games in the two seasons in the first division, averaging 5.6 points and 4.2 rebounds a contest this past season... Markusson played at the national team level with the Sweden program. He played eight games in 2015 for Sweden at the U-20 European Championships, helping his team win silver. He averaged 7.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game in that tournament. He played for the U-18 team in the same tournament in 2013 and 2014, helping the team to a sixth place and then a fourth-place finishes, respectively... He was ranked seventh for centers and 33rd overall in Europe by Eurohopes.com for his class.
