Biography

BRIEFLY… Quentin Jackson, Jr. completed his second season at LMU in 2021-22 after transferring in April 2020 from Temple… Jackson. Jr., began his college career at UNC Charlotte, before transferring to Tallahassee Community College as a sophomore and Temple as a junior… First season at LMU cut short due to a foot injury.
 
IN 2020-21 • GRADUATE STUDENT… Played in 10 games in 2021-22… Earned the start on senior day against Pacific (2/26/20) and scored the game’s opening basket… Scored eight points on the season in 41 total minutes… Hit a three against NCAA Tournament team Saint Mary’s (1/22/22).
 
IN 2020-21 • GRADUATE STUDENT… Quentin Jackson, Jr. signed with LMU on April 15, 2020 as a graduate transfer… Played in six games before a foot injury prematurely ended his season… Logged 22+ minutes in three consecutive games: at Minnesota (11/28/20), at Minnesota (11/30/20), and Long Beach State (12/4/20), and averaged 16.8 minutes per game… Led the team with 44.4 percent shooting from three-point range… Scored seven point in his LMU debut on 2-for-3 shooting and 1-for-1 from three to help defeat Southern Utah (11/25/20)… Scored a season-high 11 points and four assists in LMU’s win over Long Beach State (12/4/20)… In his final game before injury, scored five points on 2-for-3 shooting and 1-for-1 from three to help defeat eventual NCAA Tournament team UC Santa Barbara (12/12/20).

IN 2018-19 • JUNIOR… Appeared in 10 games for the Owls… Played a season-high 11 minutes while knocking down a three on his only shot attempt against South Florida (Jan. 12)… Made the most of his one minute of action against UConn (Feb. 6) with a field goal in his only attempt… Totaled five points and five points, a rebound, and a block in his 25 minutes of play.

IN 2017-18 • SOPHOMORE… 
Appeared in 28 games with 15 starts... Averaged 10 points and 3.1 assists per game while playing 22.1 minutes per game for Tallahassee Community College... Recorded 16 double-figure scoring games... Twice scored a season-high 18 points... Hit 43.5 percent from the field and made 76.5 percent of his free throw attempts... Hit an off-balanced three-pointer with 0.3 seconds left to break a 70-all tie and give Tallahassee a 73-70 win at Daytona State College on Nov. 15.

IN 2016-17 • FRESHMAN… Saw action in all 30 of UNC Charlotte’s games with four starts...Recorded six double-figure scoring games...Named Conference USA Freshman of the Week (Jan. 2) for his performance in a win over North Texas (12/31/16)...Scored 17 points off the bench, shooting 6-for-10 from the field and 2-for-2 from beyond the three-point line to go along with five rebounds and four assists against North Texas...Scored 12 points with five rebounds, three steals, three assists and two blocked shots in his collegiate debut against Newberry (11/11/16)...Recorded his third double-figure scoring game of the season with 19 points off the bench (7-for-13 from the field and 4-for-4 from the free throw line) against Rice (1/2/17)...Scored 11 points with three assists, three steals and two rebounds off the bench at Marshall (1/7/17)...Scored 13 points with eight rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots in his first career start against Southern Miss (1/14/17)...Scored 17 points (including going 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and grabbed nine rebounds at North Texas (1/26/17).

High School: Played at Cape Fear Christian Academy… Ranked as the seventh best player in the state of North Carolina and the third best point guard, according to ESPN.com…Ranked as the 23rd best shooting guard in the country according to Scout.com…The Charlotte Observer ranked him as the 12th best player in the state of North Carolina...Named first-team NCISAA 1A All-State as a senior….Played on the East team in the 2016 North Carolina Private School All-Star game…As a senior, he scored 16 points for Cape Fear Academy in the state championship…Averaged 20.6 points per game as a senior…Scored 30 points and made the game-winning shot in the final seconds of the 2016 state quarterfinals in a 80-78 win against Neuse Christian...Starred for Martinsville, Virginia’s Carlisle School as a junior, leading his team to a 22-13 record…Averaged 14.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.2 assists as a junior…His stellar play earned him second team all-state honors by the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association…As a sophomore, led Raleigh’s Word of God Academy to an 18-9 record…Summer, 2015, he played his AAU ball for SEBL, leading his team to the CP3 Live 17U championship as the tournament’s co-MVP.

Personal: Born in Cary, North Carolina… Is the son of Dayna and Quentin Jackson… Has one brother, Daniel, who played football at Florida International University… Is the great grandson of Wendell Scott who is in the NASCAR Hall of Fame...Father, Quentin Sr., played for legendary coach Jim Valvano at North Carolina State from 1985 to 1988 as the starting point guard.

Major: Masters in Educational Studies after earning his degree in Communications from Temple.
