Briefly... Sylvia Olvera enters her fourth and final season at LMU... At LMU... 2004... with Second Varsity 8 she helped the Lions to a 5th of 11 at San Diego Fall Classic (11/9/03), first at Parker Cup (3/6/04), second place at WCC Championships (4/30/04), fourth place in Grand Final of WIRA Championships (5/2/04) and second place finish in Petite Final of Pac-10 Championships (5/16/04)... 2003... raced in six events for the Lions[apos] Second Varsity 8, all at the two seat... helped 2V8 to the Petite Final of WIRA Championships (5/3/04)... earned a win over Saint Mary[apos]s as part of the Varsity 4 team in the WCC Challenge (3/16/03) and WCC Championships (5/2/03)... 2002... raced in the Petite Final for the Novice 8 team at the Miller Cup (4/27/02)... team placed second... raced with the second Varsity 8 at the WCC Championship (5/3/02)... also raced with Novice 8 at the WIRA Championship (5/4/02)... High School... graduated in 2001 from St. Bernard High School in Playa del Rey, CA... played soccer for three seasons and basketball for two seasons... also attended Colegio Miraflores in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico... Personal... Sylvia Vanessa Olvera was born in Los Angeles, CA... daughter of Sylvia Rose Olvera, who currently lives in Mexico... United States guardians are Jennifer (Aunt) and Mark Wiacek... has a brother, George Olvera, and a sister, Jennifer Olvera... a Biology major who hopes to become a Pediatrician.
