Petr Herman's finished his fifth season of college basketball at LMU in 2018-19 after receiving an extra year of eligibility after an opening game injury sidelined him for the remainder of the 2017-18 season.
HIGHLIGHTS AT LMU
2018-19 • REDSHIRT SENIOR… Played in 26 games, and started on Senior Day (2/28/19), after receiving a medical hardship redshirt season… Averaged 3.8 points per game and 1.7 rebounds per game as a senior… Recorded four 10 point games: vs. Bethesda (11/29/18), at UCLA (12/2/18), vs. San Diego (2/7/19), and vs. Gonzaga (2/14/19)… Tallied three blocks at UCLA (12/2/18)… Opened the season with six rebounds over Westcliff (11/6/19)… Finished his career ranked 18thall-time with 56 total blocks, 25thall-time with 0.5 career blocked shot average, and tied for 20thin career total games played with 110.
2017-18 • SENIOR…Appeared in the opening game for the Lions before his season ended prematurely due to injury... Played 19 minutes and went 3-for-5 with seven points, five rebounds, and two blocks at UT Arlington (11/11/17).
2016-17 • JUNIOR…Ended regular season starting last six games of season, helping Lions win four of last five games... enters WCC tournament averaging 3.8 points and 2.8 rebounds... in final six games scored 43 points with 23 rebounds and 17 blocks. In previous 23 games, had 48 points, 45 rebounds and five blocks combined... tied a school record with seven blocks in final game of regular season against Pacific (2/25/17), playing in a season-high 30 minutes... had season-best 10 rebounds in opener against Vanguard (11/11/16)... enters WCC tournament ranked 11th in the WCC in blocks (0.9 bpg).
2015-16 • SOPHOMORE…Played in 30 games, averaging 3.7 ppg, 2.8 rpg in 11.4 mpg... added 12 blocks and 16 steals... had seven points, three rebounds, two steals, a block and an assist in the WCC tournament win over San Diego (3/5/16)... had career-game with first double-double against USF (2/20/16), going for career-best 13 points and 11 rebounds... he added four assists and three blocks... played in all but one game in non-conference, scoring 10 points against Antelope Valley (11/22/15) with eight rebounds... he went for a then-career-best 12 points off the bench on the road at CSUF (12/12/15), hitting 6-for-7 from the field... averaged nearly 11 minutes a game heading into WCC play...
2014-15 • FRESHMAN…Played in 28 games for the Lions as a true freshman, scoring 1.4 points per game while averaging 1.3 rebounds per contest... he went for a career-best 11 points against No. 3 Gonzaga (1/17/15) at Gersten Pavilion. He played a career-high 23 minutes in that contest... he also had two steals, seven rebounds and a block against the Bulldogs.
BEFORE LMU…Played for the Czech Republic national program since 2010 and played for the Canarias Basketball Academy in Spain from 2012-14... Herman's most recent international experience comes from the U18 European Championships (Division B) in the summer of 2013, playing eight games (16.9 mpg), while averaging 9.4 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest. He finished the tournament hitting 43.8 percent from three and 46 percent from the field overall. He ranked 19th in the tournament field with 0.6 blocks per game and was ninth in three point percentage... His best game came with 16 points and six rebounds against Israel. Also had 13 points and 10 rebounds in a double-double performance against Estonia... He also played in the U18 European Championships (Division A) in 2011-12, averaging 9.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.2 steals in nine games. His first international experience came in the in U18 European Challenge in 2010-11 where he played seven games (12.7 mpg), while averaging 4.5 points, 1.3 blocks, 3.6 rebounds and 0.6 steals per game... While playing for Canarias Basketball Academy, he averaged eight points and 4.8 rebounds per contest during league play in 2011-12. He also played in Nike International Junior Tournament in February of 2012 and the National Prep School Invitational in 2014 at Rhode Island College.
PERSONAL…Petr Herman is from Central Bohemian, Czech Republic and was born on April 13, 1994... he is the son of Sarka and Petr Herman... Earned his undergraduate degree at LMU on May 5, 2018.
