Briefly: Myron “MJ” Amey, Jr. played two seasons at LMU from 2024-26 after transferring ahead of the 2024-25 from San Jose State where he was named All-Mountain West Honorable Mention (2023-24), All-Mountain West Media Honorable Mention (2023-24), Hoops HD All-Conference Team (2023-24), Mountain West Freshman of the Week (1/10/22), and Paradise Jam All-Tournament Team (2023)… In his final season at LMU, Amey was named to the All-WCC Honorable Mention team and WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention Team in 2026.
 
AT LMU
2025-26 – REDSHIRT SENIOR
Played in all 32 games for the second consecutive season, never missing a game as a Lion… Started the 17 games in his final season and ranked third on the team with 30.5 minutes per game and second on the team with 977 total minutes played… Let the team and ranked eighth in the West Coast Conference in field goal percentage at 42.1 percent… Hit a team-high and ranked ninth in the conference with 163 made field goals… Let the Lions and ranked eighth in the WCC in points per game at 14.8 and ranked ninth in the conference at 14.8 points per game… Led LMU and ranked fourth in the conference with 1.53 steals per game and seventh in the WCC in overall steals at 49… Ranked third in the West Coast Conference with 82 made threes and 2.56 threes per game… Ranked fourth in the WCC after shooting 35.3 percent from three… Scored in double-digits in 24 games, including one 31 point performance against conference opponent Washington State (2/25/26)… Dished out five assists and recorded five steals in the conference game against Washington State (2/26/26) to go along with his 8-for-9 free throw shooting performance as part of his 31 point night… Earned WCC Player of the Week after hitting 6-of-7 three pointers, making 11 field goals, and scoring 29 points to lead LMU to an overtime win at UC Santa Barbara (11/17/25)… Grabbed seven rebounds twice, once in the Sunshine Slam win over Ohio (11/25/25) and again against NCAA Tournament team Santa Clara (1/31/26)… Recorded six steals in the road win at San Diego (2/21/26)… Hit nine threes against North Alabama (12/19/25) as part of a 28 point night… Named to the WCC All-Conference Honorable Mention Team and the WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention Team.

2024-25 – REDSHIRT JUNIOR
Played in all 32 games… Started the first four games of the season before leading the Lions as the top sixth scoring sixth man… Ranked 5^th on LMU and 48^th in the West Coast Conference with 8.6 points per game… Averaged 20.4 minutes per game, one of five players on LMU with 20 or more points per game… Second on the team in free throw percentage at 82.1 percent on 46-for-56 from the line… Led the team and ranked 12^th in the WCC with 40 steals, averaging 1.3 steals per game… Grabbed 87 rebounds and dished out 21 assists… Scored in double-digits in 13 games, including a 24 point performance on 7-for-12 shooting and five made threes in a road win at Pacific (1/23/25)… Opened the season with 20 points and four steals against LIFE Pacific (11/4/24).. Grabbed a season-high eight rebounds to go along with 16 points in the 2025 WCC Tournament game against Washington State (3/8/25)… Scored 16 points and recorded four steals in the win at San Diego (2/1/25 after scoring 17 points and adding two steals in the home game against the Toreros (1/18/25).

• Averaged 15.7 points per game 
• Selected to the Paradise Jam All-Tournament Team after leading the tournament with 14 assists and averaging 16.0 points, 4.67 assists and 2.0 steals per game
• Scored 21 points against Abilene Christian (11/17)
• Registered four 3-pointers against Norfolk State (11/18)
• Recorded three steals against Hampton (11/20)
• Tallied a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds versus North Dakota State (11/27)
• Registered 22 points at Cal Poly (11/29)
• Filled the stat sheet with 17 points, nine rebounds, five assists, four steals and one block against Santa Clara (12/20)
• Scored 30 points, 25 of which came in the first half, against Boise State (1/5)
• Produced 20 points versus No. 19 San Diego State (1/9)
• Scored 24 points against New Mexico (1/24)
• Registered 25 points versus Air Force at home (2/13)

2022-23 – SOPHOMORE

• Saw action in nine games before an injury sidelined him for the season
• Averaged 5.6 points and 1.1 rebounds per game
• Scored in double figures twice - 13 pts vs. Bethesda and 10 pts vs. Cal Poly
• Collected three rebounds at Pacific where he had his only blocked shot of the season
• Dished out two assists in three games

 
2021-22 – FRESHMAN

• Shot .727 at the line and averaged 9.4 points per game
• Posted a career-high 32 points against Bethesda (1/8)
• Grabbed 73 rebounds and tallied 18 steals on the season
• Posted a career-best 12 rebounds against San Diego State (2/9)
• Made four starts in 25 games played
• Went 8-for-11 against UNLV (1/22) 

 
HIGH SCHOOL:

• Graduated from Vacaville High School
• Was an all-league selection in both his junior and senior seasons in both basketball and football
• Averaged 27 points, five assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.6 steals
• Spent one season at Scotland Prep (Pa.) where he averaged 20.3 points in three games with a single-game best of 26 points.
