Played in 15 matches for the Lions, starting all 15. Moved from defense to forward in her second season as a Lion. Scored four goals to lead the Lions. Scored first goal of the season against CSU Bakersfield on 8/31. Notched an assist against Nevada (9/7) for her first assist at LMU. Scored in back-to-matches against USD (9/23 and 10/4). Scored against Gonzaga on 11/1 to mark her season total. Named to the WCC All-Academic team after the season ended.
JUNIOR (2022)
Played in 16 matches for the Lions as a transfer junior, starting all 16. Played mostly a wing back position in coach Chamides' first season. Scored first goal of the season against CSUN on 8/28, a game-winning goal. Also notched goals against UC Riverside (9/18) and San Francisco (10/22). Finished the season with three goals.

SOPHOMORE (2020-21)
Played a total of 287 minutes over eight matches with a trio of starts at TCU (55 minutes - Sept. 18), Oklahoma (Sept. 25) and at West Virginia (31 minutes - Oct. 2) ... Played a career-high 72 minutes in the 1-0 “Red River Rivalry” win over Oklahoma (Sept. 25) ... Earned her first career playing time and fired her initial collegiate shot during the 1-0 loss against Kansas (Sept. 11).

CLUB
With different levels of her Beach FC club program, Groves was part of winning the SCDSL League and a third-place finish in the National League (2016-17) as well as serving as a captain of the Development Academy (DA) squad (2017-18) that finished in the top half of the So Cal Division … During the 2017-18 DA season, she scored eight goals as an outside back and started 29-of-31 matches while being named a Top Drawer Soccer Player of the Week (Oct. 21, 2018) … During the 2018-19 campaign, Groves started 20 matches while leading her team in goals (six) and assists (four) before suffering an injury.
HIGH SCHOOL
In two seasons at Palos Verdes H.S., Groves scored 13 goals and dished nine assists for 35 points over 41 matches … During her 2016 freshman campaign, she helped her squad to the state finals, a California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Division 2 Regional title and a Bay League Championship as a forward with a team-best 27 points on 11 goals and five helpers … Along the way, Groves was named All-Bay League Second Team and scored the match-winning goal during the 2016 CIF Southern Section Division 2 semifinal to complete a 3-2 comeback victory over Newbury Park … As a sophomore in 2017, Groves fought through injury (two goals, four assists) but still reaped All-Bay League First Team accolades as part of the defensive backline, helping her squad post nine shutouts on the way to an undefeated Bay League season and the second round of the state playoffs … Groves was also named to the CIF Southern Section Academic Team and is a member of both the National Honor Society and the Science National Honors Society.

Born on October 11, 2000 … Parents are Jeff and Angela Groves … Has one sibling, Alana … Comes from an athletic family as her uncle, Marcus Reese, played football at UCLA and for the NFL’s Chicago Bears; her aunt, Kerri Wise, played basketball at Cal State Northridge; her uncle, Dwight Reese, played football at Wisconsin and her mother was a track & field athlete at San Jose State … Is an avid traveler, having ventured recently to the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Belize, Hawai’i and Chicago … Has participated in numerous community service projects including beach clean-ups, feeding the homeless through Beacon Light Church and spending time as a volunteer coach for kids at Deft Touch Soccer Center and with AYSO.
