His dedication this off season has been impressive and we are looking forward to some great things from him in his final season." 1999-2000 Season Notes: Elton Mashack struggled early in the season but rebounded with some very respectable efforts as the regular season ended. He picked up the 11th double-double of his career with 12 points and 14 rebounds (one shy of his career high) in the team's 77-65 loss at Saint Mary's. Two weeks prior, he broke out for a career-high 26 points and six rebounds in the team's 95-73 loss at Pepperdine. Mashack nearly double-doubled against Gonzaga, picking up 21 points and nine rebounds. He also totaled 15 points and five boards in the team's one-point loss to Portland. He picked up 15 points and six rebounds at Portland, and he nearly double-doubled at Gonzaga with nine points and seven rebounds. Despite two losses to USF and Santa Clara, he combined for 40 points and 17 rebounds against the Broncos and the Dons. While picking up his third double-double this year and the tenth of his career, he finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds against the Dons. He also shattered his career-high in scoring with 23 points against Santa Clara. Although his scoring has been down this year ( shooting just 33.4 percent on the season, 104-311), he grabbed 21 rebounds in two games and finished with 148 in the last 20 (7.1). His play was fantastic in the final 12 games. Mashack's combined for 191 points and 102 rebounds during that stretch. He picked up his second-consecutive double-double this year after finishing with 12 points and 11 rebounds at home against Dartmouth (was the ninth of his career). Mashack rated 5th in the WCC in rebounding averaging 7.1 rpg, 12th in scoring with 11.4 points per game and second with 3.0 offensive rebounds per game. Mashack led the team last year with seven double-doubles, a mark that ranked fifth in school history among sophomores. Mashack was also the team's third-leading scorer a year ago averaging 12.1 ppg, and led the team 13 times in rebounding during the campaign. He scored in double figures in 19 of the team's 27 games and set a career-high in rebounding after hauling in 15 in the team's 73-49 loss at USC on Dec. 9. 1999-2000 Game-By-Game Recaps: Cal
